It's about this world where everything has "sameness" but the man character finds out there's more to life than just his world. Haha, my summary sucks, but it really is great!

I actually re-read that earlier this year. It is so awesome to pull out a book that you have read before and liked and read it again!

Haha yeah ... I haven't been following up on my Gossip Girl Series, but I'm hoping to catch up. Ack, I also hate books that you think something is going to happen, but when you reach the end, nothing goes as you thought and the ending is just ... not good.

Alas, Babylon is an apoplectic novel written by Pat Frank in 1959. It takes place in Florida (which was strange to read 'cause I live in Florida), and it explores what would have happened if the Cold War turned into a Nuclear War. It gives an account of what American citizens would go through if society was destroyed (because of multiple nuclear explosions): no banks, no electricity, no jobs. Martial law would take over, and there'd be no one to keep people safe (and alive).
I found that a lot of these situations are similar to what victims of hurricane Katrina are going through (although I read it a few years ago).
Another book I found to be surprisingly good as well was Grapes of Wrath. A little slow and over-descriptive at times, but still good.

Gosh that sounds like a good read. Mr Gallianoes circus is about a circus and what the children do who live there. I love it and I've read it countless times. One thing thats weird though (Not the story but the book itself) My Mom had the book when she was little and gave it to someone else. Then like 20 years later my Grandad bought the book for me of a market and it was the exact book my Mom had! It had all her writng rubbed out and you could make it out! Now thats spooky!
