We don't use gas that much. Just our fire and central heating which we haven't used for months. We sadly don't have a car. We use public transport and I know it sounds sensible and a good thing to do. Trust me its not. A few weeks ago I thought there was a bomb on a bus and panic was not the word. I didn't use a bus for a week. It seriously disturbed me and the way I physiccally dragged my sister of the bus. Also you have huligans smoking dope and it stinks.

well..i think that it's good for people to have cars.. but we shouldn't use them all the time. with that hurricane gas was expected to go up to $5 a gallon! that'd be TERRIBLE

yeah they were saying the gas prices were going to sky rocket...that was about as true and the hurricane was going to destroy everything in east texas.....it wasnt...people over reacted....and it did go up to three dollars but not even close to the five they said it was going to get up to....so gas is really high but not as high as it could be

guess what, i've got a new point to bring up here. Ya know how everyone's so angry about gas prices being so high and what can we do to lower them? Well, first off, this country is built on lassazie-faire (sp?) economics. Which, for those who don't know, means supply and demand. The customer sets the price. What we're willing to buy is what they're going to make us pay. If we stopped buying gas for even one day, it would make it to the point where they'd have to lower prices.
That sets me into my next point. Oil, which we make gas out of. When it used to be 1.18 $ a gallon, oil was about 40.00$. It's up to 63 at the MOST now, sometimes lower. Gas prices should not have gone up a dollar and a half because of that extra money spent on oil. It's not worth that, which brings us back to lassaize-faire economics. It's US that are making the gas prices so high. It's US that have to bring it down.
Does anyone else see what I'm saying?

yes i do......they are coming down though....its not like we had to do anything because the oil suppliers know that we would have boycotted if they'd kept up the prices....so it all works out in time

Actually, we DID have something to do with gas prices coming down. When they were so high, people would buy 5, 10 at the most in gas. When the prices are lower, people are willing to fill up. It was us that brought them down because otherwise, the gas companies would be losing SO much money.
